More powers needed to enforce Blue Badge law

WAAG want new laws to protect disabled peoples rights to go shopping in the knowledge that they can park in the spaces provided for them.

We are also asking that the police carry out their duty to enforce the laws of fraud against motorists who use a blue badge illegally by using new equipment supplied to them, and not allowing this duty to be passed to traffic wardens or police wardens as some forces are doing, as those bodies do not have the power of arrest.

Parking is a big problem for everyone, and we all appreciate that, but for the disabled it means they can carry on a normal life like an able-bodied person can.

We have asked the Prime Minister to ensure the police enforce the laws, and bring in new laws protecting disabled parking bays both on private and public land. To sign the petition, click here.
