Public Toilet Facilities - or the lack of Public Toilet Facilities

For some time now WAAG have expressed concern at the move by WBC to close Public Toilet facilities and depend on facilities being provided by local businesses on their premises. Our main concern is that the needs of the disabled community have not been adequately taken into consideration. We were in fact pushing WBC to arrange the building of a toilet facility which met the guidelines laid out by the "Changing Places" campaign which would make our town a better place to visit for the disabled community and their carers.

Unfortunately WBC, possibly for finance reasons, have gone in the opposite direction and have already closed one facility in Woodley. The alternative suggested has not been found suitable for wheelchair users.

We invite you, and as many of your friends as possible, to download the letter (follow the link) and send it to Ms law at WBC
